I think it’s completely normal for young children to be so confused about what it means to die. It’s a hard concept to explain to them. Dawson has similar misunderstandings. If we see an animal that has been squished by a car, he’ll sometimes tell me that it needs it’s Mama to kiss him. And whenever he hears that someone has dies, he’ll sometimes ask if Jesus will make them alive again. And where do people go when they die? What exactly is Heaven? It’s hard for adults to understand, so of course children will struggle with it. At least Jonah is inquisitive and trying to get it.
