Our trip to Disney last weekend brought back memories and it amazes me how episodic memories function. In 1988, I visited Disney World for the first time. I was with a high school group and we went to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. What I find interesting is that nearly all of my memories are of Epcot. I can recall the rides, where I ate, who I walked around with, where I sat to watch the fireworks at the end of the day (on the grass next to the Rose & Crown — a great “pub”), etc. My only recollection of Magic Kingdom (I know I spent at least a half-day there) is an image similar to the photo on the left… and the downtown parade. Go figure…
