Forever Young by Alphaville
This morning I watched a new Saturn Commercial — the one with Forever Young by Alphaville. It was so funny (sad?) watching it and reflecting on it. In May, Stephanie and I are going to be chaperones for the high school prom where she teaches. We were chaperones at Homecoming last fall. So much has changed since my high school years — and yet the basic behaviors and feelings are the same. Many of the kids would be clustered around the walls of the room. Only this time they all had cell phones — and many of them were calling their friends on the other side of the dance floor. Most of them are just as afraid as we were nearly 15 years ago… but now they can call their friends at the same time. Prom should be interesting… 
The gym today was pretty quiet. I’ve taken to bringing along readings (pleasure, work, and/or class related — it doesn’t matter). I’ve found that the time passes faster, but my times have dropped slightly. I suppose that’s to be expected because my concentration is on the readings.
Time to grade papers . . .
